A PLACE TO LEARN, DISCOVER &
EXPLORE THE EVER CHANGING WORLD
WE DESIGN IN!

✍️ Henry Cheney

We’re here to keep you inspired and informed, with a special focus on the intersection of four key areas:

CGI

Architecture

Design

Technology

Why these four? Because together, they define the future of creativity. At HBC Visual, our love for CGI has driven us to explore its transformative power across industries, and the rapid rise of AI is rewriting the rules of design.

Yet, we remain grounded in the timeless principles of creativity: the artist behind the tool will always matter.

Creativity is an act of defiance.

CGI

In the world of CGI Chaos has released its latest software to the market, Envision. This Beta version looks to help Enscape and Vray users take their project into real-time, with animation and phasing for storytelling ability. Although promising, our initial outlook is that it’s far too clunky, heavily reliant on being deeply embedded into the Chaos ecosystem, and not as open as it needs to be in this day and age. For us, this doesn’t hit the mark that other software like D5 & Twinmotion are able to achieve.

Architecture

In the world of Architecture, the Raj Sabhagruh designed by Serie Architects in Gujarat reinterprets the Jain Samavasarana with 13 stacked, rotated white-marble rooms, forming a siddhachakra. This modern sacred space blends traditional elements like upward focus and symmetry with contemporary design, featuring a large discourse hall and a tall meditation space.

Design

In the world of Design, we found this great video looking at the day in the life of an industrial designer, Kevin Chee, at Craighill. Great takeaway from this is to ‘absorb, absorb, absorb because you never know, maybe it will inspire something’.

Technology

In the world of Technology, Singapore scientists 3D print concrete blocks that capture carbon dioxide. By incorporating steam and industrial waste CO2, the process creates stronger, more durable blocks while reducing carbon emissions.

There is no healthier drug than creativity.

Doodle

Instead of relying on AI-generated images, we invite you to doodle! Sketching isn’t just for fun—it’s a way to unlock creativity and explore new ideas. Each issue, we’ll feature one doodle, and soon, we’d love to showcase your creations.

🎨 Grab a pen, unleash your imagination, and get doodling! 🎨

Following on from our recent honeymoon in Japan, we’re exploring some of our thoughts and experiences in the land of the rising sun. This week we’ve been delving deeper into the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai, and we encourage you to spend some time reading the link below and finding your ‘Ikigai’.
