A PLACE TO LEARN, DISCOVER &
EXPLORE THE EVER CHANGING WORLD
WE DESIGN IN!
✍️ Henry Cheney
We’re here to keep you inspired and informed, with a special focus on the intersection of four key areas:
![]() CGI | ![]() Architecture |
![]() Design | ![]() Technology |
Why these four? Because together, they define the future of creativity. At HBC Visual, our love for CGI has driven us to explore its transformative power across industries, and the rapid rise of AI is rewriting the rules of design.
Yet, we remain grounded in the timeless principles of creativity: the artist behind the tool will always matter.
If you want creative workers, give them enough time to play.
CGI
A recent video showcasing Scans Factory's Unreal Engine recreation of an Italian street scape has left us amazed. Having spent considerable time in Italy ourselves, we can attest to the accuracy and beauty of this digital rendition. The level of detail and the authentic atmosphere captured in this virtual environment are truly impressive. This impressive feat of digital artistry demonstrates the immense potential of Unreal Engine to create photorealistic virtual environments
Architecture
In the world of Architecture, often overlooked as a mere building block, the brick can be transformed into a work of art in the hands of skilled architects. The intricate brickwork of Frank Gehry's Dr Chau Chak Wing building in Sydney is a testament to the power of this humble material. While the builders may have initially been daunted by the complexity of the project, they ultimately emerged proud of their accomplishment. By embracing the versatility of brick, architects can create buildings that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Click below for some other interesting uses, we particularly like ‘The Grand Mulberry’.
Design
In the world of Design, the release of Theory 1, a Lotus concept car that wouldn’t look out of place in a children's sketch of ‘the coolest car’ competition! When you see the doors open, it’s taking things to a whole new level. What we also love about a lot of what’s been done with this car, is the use of CGI. It takes a keen eye to spot it, but there are some giveaways here and there if you look close enough!
Technology
In the world of Technology, turning cob into bricks is a modern take on an ancient technique. Cob is a natural building material composed of clay, sand, and straw, once widely used to construct homes. With its low-carbon footprint and beautiful aesthetic, cob could experience a resurgence in popularity with this development by Tavs Jorgensen. As we strive for more sustainable building practices, we eagerly anticipate bold architectural projects that showcase the unique potential of this timeless material.
If you hear a voice within you say. ‘You cannot paint’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.
Doodle
Instead of relying on AI-generated images, we invite you to doodle! Sketching isn’t just for fun—it’s a way to unlock creativity and explore new ideas. Each issue, we’ll feature one doodle, and soon, we’d love to showcase your creations.
🎨 Grab a pen, unleash your imagination, and get doodling! 🎨

I'll never look at marble statues the same way again. The revelation of their original colors is mind-boggling. It's like discovering that dinosaurs were feathered, a complete paradigm shift.
