ISSUE 4 /
A PLACE TO LEARN, DISCOVER &
EXPLORE THE EVER CHANGING WORLD
WE DESIGN IN!
✍️ Henry Cheney
We’re here to keep you inspired and informed, with a special focus on the intersection of four key areas:
![]() CGI | ![]() Architecture |
![]() Design | ![]() Technology |
Why these four? Because together, they define the future of creativity. At HBC Visual, our love for CGI has driven us to explore its transformative power across industries, and the rapid rise of AI is rewriting the rules of design.
Yet, we remain grounded in the timeless principles of creativity: the artist behind the tool will always matter.
Creativity takes courage
CGI
In the world of CGI, Blender had its annual conference last week, and there were lots of interesting things to come out of it. It also reminded us of a presentation from last year we really liked by Asbjørn Lote, on Photorealism Mindset. For anyone looking to elevate their renders, well worth paying attention to the details he outlines in this talk.
Architecture
In the world of Architecture, we love the content shared by The Local Project. Mori House, a contemporary beach house, challenges traditional notions of domestic architecture. Designed by Manuel Aires Mateus, MA+Co, and Neometro, the home prioritizes form, layout, and the interplay of light and space. Its unique design features a central cross-shaped void that allows for flexible spatial configurations, catering to the owners' diverse needs. The interior seamlessly blends with the exterior, blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The concrete structure ensures durability in the coastal climate, while the rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Design
In the world of Design, Nike has introduced Nike Grind Dumbbells, a sustainable fitness product made from recycled materials. This innovative approach aligns with Nike's commitment to reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices
Technology
In the world of Technology, taking a different approach to installing living walls into urban design and making it a part of the actual building. We’d seen this doing the rounds on social media and thought it was worth a deeper dive, check out their work at Respyre, maybe your next project could include one of their systems.
Creativity is a continual surprise.
Doodle
Instead of relying on AI-generated images, we invite you to doodle! Sketching isn’t just for fun—it’s a way to unlock creativity and explore new ideas. Each issue, we’ll feature one doodle, and soon, we’d love to showcase your creations.
🎨 Grab a pen, unleash your imagination, and get doodling! 🎨

Not often do I click on the wetransfer artwork, but for some reason I did, and I really enjoyed the work by Samona Olanipekun n and his short film ‘I & I’
