A PLACE TO LEARN, DISCOVER &
EXPLORE THE EVER CHANGING WORLD
WE DESIGN IN!
✍️ Henry Cheney
We’re here to keep you inspired and informed, with a special focus on the intersection of four key areas:
![]() CGI | ![]() Architecture |
![]() Design | ![]() Technology |
Why these four? Because together, they define the future of creativity. At HBC Visual, our love for CGI has driven us to explore its transformative power across industries, and the rapid rise of AI is rewriting the rules of design.
Yet, we remain grounded in the timeless principles of creativity: the artist behind the tool will always matter.
The artist is not a different kind of person, but every person is a different kind of artist.
MENTAL MUSINGS /
We marvel at the towering tree, but its strength lies hidden beneath the surface, in a complex network of roots.
Similarly, in our creative and entrepreneurial journeys, much of the vital work happens out of sight – the research, the quiet contemplation, the iterative failures, the disciplined practice.
What unseen "roots" are you cultivating right now that will support the visible growth of your future endeavours? Embrace this subterranean labour; it’s where true resilience is forged.
CGI
In the world of CGI, it seems that AI’s ability to create realtime interactive worlds is already here. Genie 3 can generate interagtive worlds with just a text prompt. It has it’s limitations but to see where this has come in a short space of time is pretty mind blowing, well for the human mind that is. Unsure of what the impact on 3D artists, but it looks like we will find a hybrid model where traditional 3D is used as the control for the AI.
Architecture
In the world of Architecture, one of the most famous projects, La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, is coming into it’s final journey of construction, some 140 years after work first began. What’s amazing is that Gaudi’s had the foresight to know that his vision would only be fully realised with the help of future technology. We can’t wait to visit this amazing city again, once the structure is complete, currently projected for 2026.
Design
In the world of Design, designer Thomas Vincent has designed a range of lamps with the effect of creating a floating ball of light by sandwiching it between colour layers of acrylic. Once turned on, the added reflection of the light in the acrylic gives the effect of motion and movement.
Technology
In the world of Technology, Living Seawalls is revolutionising ocean construction by making seawalls and other coastal infrastructure sustainable. The initiative combines ecological and engineering expertise to develop affordable ways to bring marine life back to developments worldwide, ensuring new projects benefit both humans and nature. If we’re going to construct along the shoreline with ever expanding urban areas, let’s try to make it work for nature at the same time.
Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.
Doodle
Instead of relying on AI-generated images, we invite you to doodle! Sketching isn’t just for fun—it’s a way to unlock creativity and explore new ideas. Each issue, we’ll feature one doodle, and soon, we’d love to showcase your creations.
🎨 Grab a pen, unleash your imagination, and get doodling! 🎨
