A PLACE TO LEARN, DISCOVER &
EXPLORE THE EVER CHANGING WORLD
WE DESIGN IN!
✍️ Henry Cheney
We’re here to keep you inspired and informed, with a special focus on the intersection of four key areas:
![]() CGI | ![]() Architecture |
![]() Design | ![]() Technology |
Why these four? Because together, they define the future of creativity. At HBC Visual, our love for CGI has driven us to explore its transformative power across industries, and the rapid rise of AI is rewriting the rules of design.
Yet, we remain grounded in the timeless principles of creativity: the artist behind the tool will always matter.
Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye.
MENTAL MUSINGS /
Just as photographers seek the "golden hour" for its perfect light, entrepreneurs and creatives can harness the extended daylight of summer to find their own optimal time for breakthroughs.
Is it that early morning stillness before the world wakes up, bathed in soft, rising light, when ideas flow freely? Or perhaps it's the late evening, when the day's demands have faded and the lingering light invites a different kind of focus – one that's more reflective and expansive. These long days offer us more opportunities to pinpoint when our minds are sharpest, most innovative, and most open to new possibilities.
By consciously seeking out and utilising these personal "golden hours," we can inject a fresh burst of creativity and strategic clarity into our business pursuits, making the most of every sun-drenched minute.
CGI
In the world of CGI, we're now witnessing the emergence of 4D Gaussian Splatting, thanks to Chinese-based company 4DV. It's a truly astounding leap forward: the speed and fidelity with which a standard 2D video can now be transformed into a dynamic, explorable 3D environment truly push the boundaries of what feels possible. My mind immediately jumped to that iconic scene in the Batman movie, where Bruce Wayne activates the high-frequency generator receiver, essentially mapping the entire city to locate the Joker – this feels like the very early steps of that futuristic vision becoming a reality
Architecture
In the world of Architecture, this compact urban home for a couple and their two cats by Suzuko Yamada Architects, prioritises an outer shell for living and cat-friendly spaces. Within its tiny 26-square-meter footprint, essential amenities and oversized architectural elements create a dynamic, segmented interior. The design fosters a unique relationship between inhabitants, objects, and nature, where life interacts with, but never fully merges into, the architecture. Some people love concrete, and some people hate it. What do you think, warm and inviting or cold and clinical?
Design
In the world of Design, it’s been lovely to see one of my former employees, Sims Hilditch has crafted one of the WOW!HOUSE2025 rooms. Head to the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, to experience the quintessentially British charm of a country house space in a City home.
Technology
In the world of Technology, when it comes to technology, the sports world is in a constant quest for legal performance enhancement. Remember Cathy Freeman's groundbreaking 'swift suit' that made headlines at the Sydney Olympics? Fast forward to today, and now, two-time Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon and Nike collaborate to push the very limits of athletic apparel, meticulously engineering clothing to gain those crucial marginal gains in the pursuit of new records, perhaps even the elusive sub-4-minute mile.
Creativity comes from a conflict of ideas.
Doodle
Instead of relying on AI-generated images, we invite you to doodle! Sketching isn’t just for fun—it’s a way to unlock creativity and explore new ideas. Each issue, we’ll feature one doodle, and soon, we’d love to showcase your creations.
🎨 Grab a pen, unleash your imagination, and get doodling! 🎨
