A PLACE TO LEARN, DISCOVER &
EXPLORE THE EVER CHANGING WORLD
WE DESIGN IN!

✍️ Henry Cheney

We’re here to keep you inspired and informed, with a special focus on the intersection of four key areas:

CGI

Architecture

Design

Technology

Why these four? Because together, they define the future of creativity. At HBC Visual, our love for CGI has driven us to explore its transformative power across industries, and the rapid rise of AI is rewriting the rules of design.

Yet, we remain grounded in the timeless principles of creativity: the artist behind the tool will always matter.

Creativity is putting your imagination to work.

MENTAL MUSINGS /

Notice the inherent potential in the smallest of things. A tiny seed holds the blueprint for a towering tree; a single note can become a soaring melody.

Consider one small area in your life where you feel a flicker of interest or a nudge of curiosity. It might be a new recipe, a different route on your walk, or simply a conversation you've been meaning to have.

Dedicate just five minutes to exploring that tiny spark without expectation. Sometimes, nurturing these small potentials, just by giving them a little light and attention, can lead to the most unexpected and fulfilling growth.

CGI

In the world of CGI, there are some pretty cool things that can be done in Unreal, but now the guys at PXO Akira are combining a motion platform, robotic camera crane, LED volume and racing simulator, it revolutionises vehicle-based storytelling for film, TV, and advertising, offering unmatched creative freedom.

Architecture

In the world of Architecture, Soho Theatre Walthamstow has had a refurbishment. The Grade ll 1929 building was renovated and remodelled as a live performance venue and local culture centre. It’s great to see a live venue opening up when so many have shut over the last decade. Hopefully, we’re on the other side of the momentum circle where going out to see a show is back, instead of just watching another Netflix episode on the sofa. Looking forward to heading over to see a show soon.

Design

In the world of Design, inspired by Japanese Ikebana, Umut Yamac's Posi lamp for Luceplan, features luminous, biophilic stems that "blossom" when placed in its vase-like base. These rearrangeable LED stems with satin diffusers offer a playful, customizable light, controlled by a simple touch.

Technology

In the world of Technology, the fashion industry has a significant impact when it comes to waste. Fortunately, a San Diego startup Blueview appears to have made a genuine breakthrough with a biodegradable trainer – and not just one that makes unsubstantiated claims. As consumers, we naturally rely on the information provided when making purchasing decisions, and while more thorough research on our part is beneficial, stronger regulation is also essential to protect us from pervasive greenwashing. Ultimately, most of us strive to make ethical choices and trust that companies operate with integrity

Every child is an artist. The problem is how ot remain an artist once we grow up.

Doodle

Instead of relying on AI-generated images, we invite you to doodle! Sketching isn’t just for fun—it’s a way to unlock creativity and explore new ideas. Each issue, we’ll feature one doodle, and soon, we’d love to showcase your creations.

🎨 Grab a pen, unleash your imagination, and get doodling! 🎨
